Byron's poetry -a convert!

Up until a few years ago I had never read any of Lord Byrons poems. I'd heard of him, of course, and as I delved deeper into Georgian and Regency history, I learned much about Byron, and his life and times.
Eventually, I sought out some of Byrons poems, and I'm so glad I did!

The first one I read was 'She walks in beauty', and its since become one of my all time poetry favourites! I love the Romantic poets and their writings, and 'She walks in beauty' is a great example -beautiful, passionate and imaginative.

She walks in beauty

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express
How pure, how dear their dwelling place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

Fleeting Art...

I found this odd and fascinating photo. I have no idea where in the world it is, but its lots of mini human figures, carved from ice, then left to melt in the sun! Definitely fleeting art!

no1 post...The official!

Hiya! So, the last 2 blogposts were my dad...posing as me, while we got everything sorted! So this could actually be classed as my first official blogpost...ever! So, Hello! Hope you enjoy nosing round.
I'm going to try to post as regulary as I can. At the moment I'm bedbound with severe M.E, but am improving steadily so hoping regular posts will be so!
Unless stated that they are mine, any photos/videos/writings are randoms that I like and love, where the name of the artist/author will always be given, if known.

I think that's it! Hope this is a good day for you, take care,

Love Natalie xxx
